A trip to Mathura and Vrindavan from Delhi - Two day trip

Most of the trip is same as One Day Trip apart from being a hectic visit it will be more relaxed version with a little more places to visit.

Here are the exceptions, as I mentioned in the one-day trip that if you leave early you may be able to visit one more place, this will make it more hectic in the one day trip. The place is called Nandgaon, it is located around 15 km from Kosi Kalan, which is on the NH 2. See the map below:

Nandgaon is known as the place where Krishna was brought from Mathura by his biological father and is named after his second father Nand. There is a very famous temple of the Shani Dev, locally it is referred to as Shani Dham. Lot of people visit this place on Saturday, so there is always a rush at this temple in the evening. That's the reason you should visit it in the morning.

There are three things that you can do here, visit that Shani Dham temple. The offering done here include, oil, iron and coin. You should not bring back prasad from this temple, it is not considered to be good. The other temple here is the navgrah temple. Apart from these temples you can take a dip in the pond or sarovar, if not bath then I would recommend washing your hands, feet and face with the water. The third thing isParikarma. Although you can do the parikarma by car on any other given day, but on Saturday you have to do it by foot.

After you have visited this place, you can go to Barsana, this is the village where Shri Radha is use to stay. See below for the route:
There is a famous temple of Rahda ji, that you can see. The temple is situated on a hill, there are two ways you can reach the temple. one is via staircase which is very steep. Either you can go yourself or you can hire a palki. Normally they charge very high rate and you may have to negotiate. The other way is by car, if you decide to take your own car then let me tell you one the road is very narrow and only one car can go. So before starting you have to check downstairs that there is no car that is coming down. If you get stuck in the middle there is only one way from that is to come back. So enquire before you start. The same people can organise a car for you, you can check that as well and again you may have to negotiate the price.

After visiting this place either you can go to Vrindavan and depending upon the time you reach there you can visit the temple or you can go to Goverdhan parikarma. I would suggest you to go to Vrindavan as you can then utilise the time between 1 PM to 4 PM to do the Goverdhan Parikarma. Once you reach Vrindavan, visit as many temples as possible.

Next day you will have the option to visit the remaining temples and the various gardens that Vrindavan has to offer.

From there you can go to Goverdhan and Mathura as explained in the One Day trip. This will also give you the option to visit Dwarkadheesh temple in Mathura.

Now if you are planning a three day trip you can go to Agra from Mathura it is around 50 kms from there and visit the Taj Mahal.

Remember one thing, all these places Nandgaon, Barsana, Goverdhan, Vrindavan and Mathura, collectively known Brij yatra, these are the places where religiously Lord Krishna was born and brought up. Every street, however small it is will have something to offer but make sure you do your homework before you start.

Every place has a historical importance, it is believed that every house in Vrindavan is a temple as Lord Krishna use to visit. Vrindavan is the place where Lord Krishna use to meet Shri Radha Ji, so will have lot of stories from the Krishna Leela.
