Famous Places To Visit In Vrindavan, Mathura : Holy Town of India

Like every working professional longing for a break from his hectic working schedule, my colleagues and I decided to take a short road trip from Delhi to Vrindavan (a holy town in Uttar Pradesh, India which is one of the top holy places to visit in North India). Located in the northern part of India, this is a perfect weekend getaway for those residing in or around the capital of the country, Delhi.  After looking up for the famous places to visit in Vrindavan (also known as God’s own abode), surfing on the internet to find facts about Vrindavan India and packing our backpacks, we started our 3 hours of road journey to Mathura from New Delhi at half past 5 in the morning. Driving through the beautiful farms of Haryana and watching sunrise was the best part of this journey.  Though we were tired after driving at a long stretch, we got re-energized looking at the beauty of the town. A trip to Mathura and Vrindavan from Delhi - Two day trip

Most of the trip is same as One Day Trip apart from being a hectic visit it will be more relaxed version with a little more places to visit. Here are the exceptions, as I mentioned in the one-day trip that if you leave early you may be able to visit one more place, this will make it more hectic in the one day trip. The place is called Nandgaon, it is located around 15 km from Kosi Kalan, which is on the NH 2. See the map below: Nandgaon is known as the place where Krishna was brought from Mathura by his biological father and is named after his second father Nand. There is a very famous temple of the Shani Dev, locally it is referred to as Shani Dham. Lot of people visit this place on Saturday, so there is always a rush at this temple in the evening. Mathura- Vrindavan is one of the most popular sacred places in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India dedicated to Lord Krishna. Many devotees from all over the world visit here to seek the blessings from Lord Krishna especially during Janmashtami and Holi festival celebrated in India.
